Dr. Merium was born in Pakistan and moved to Maryland in 1992 with a few years spent in Brazil beforehand. She went to Georgetown University for her undergraduate degree and medical school at the American University of the Caribbean. From there it was back to Georgetown for her intern year and then to the University of Utah to complete her Pediatric residency. She spent several years at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City as a hospitalist and then moved to the PNW at the end of 2018 and started working at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. She is thrilled at the prospect of transitioning to outpatient care and forming meaningful relationships with families around the island and the greater Kitsap area.
Dr. Merium lives on Bainbridge Island with her family. She is a Liverpool FC and Pakistan cricket team fan. She enjoys traveling, reading, "bruching with friends" and working on her non-profit, PAAS Foundation, which helps impoverished children achieve literacy and provides rural communities with access to healthcare.
