Even when our office is closed, medical advice is available around the clock from Bainbridge Pediatrics.
For medical emergencies, please call 911.
For non-emergency medical problems that occur when the office is closed, we offer several options:
Our web site contains a wealth of information intended to help guide you in the care of your child. You can access dosing information for fever medication, home remedies for colds and over the counter cough and cold medications. Common illnesses will link you to excellent medical sources on common childhood diseases and their treatments. The following link from Seattle Children’s Hospital provides guidelines to help determine how sick your child is and if you should call 911, call the clinic or after-hours nurse-line, or treat your child at home:
Acute Care Advice from Seattle Children’s Hospital (CHRMC).
Please note your good judgment should always take precedence over information in these guidelines.
If you would like to speak with our triage nurse after hours, please call our main number (206-780-KIDS). You will be able to obtain advice from the Seattle Children’s Hospital Nurse Triage Team by following the voice-mail directions. If, after speaking with the nurse, you or the nurse feels it is appropriate to speak to the physician on-call, the nurse will facilitate that communication.
Should your child require a hospital visit after hours, the nurse and physician on call will assist you in choosing the most appropriate hospital. We refer our pediatric patients to Seattle Children’s Hospital, Swedish Hospital and Harrison Hospital
Please note that there is a $10.00 charge to you for each call to the after hours nurse triage team, (which is less than their charge to Bainbridge Pediatrics). This charge is not covered by most insurance and will be added to your account.
