About The Doctors & Staff

Wendy Z. Hawley, MD

Dr. Hawley was born and raised in Renton, WA. She graduated from Harvard University receiving a B.A. in Social Anthropology. While at Harvard she was a member of the varsity soccer team and was captain her senior year. She then spent a year employed by Johns Hopkins University as a research assistant studying geriatric marathoners. She received her M.D. degree from the University of Washington Medical School. She then completed a civilian Pediatric Residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma.

Prior to joining Bainbridge Pediatrics, Dr. Hawley worked at North Kitsap Pediatrics in Poulsbo, WA for eleven years. She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Hawley feels it is a privilege to provide health care to infants and children and to develop a close relationship with their families. She enjoys the opportunity to follow children as they grow and develop from infancy through adolescence. Dr. Hawley has a special interest in fitness and nutrition.

Dr. Hawley lives in Poulsbo, WA with her husband, Rob, a teacher at Klahowya Secondary School and a founding member of KYLA (Kitsap Youth Lacrosse Association). She has two children, Ruthie and Joe. She enjoys watching her children’s sporting events, walking their dog, outdoor activities, vegetables, green tea, and dark chocolate.

Walters

Frederick C. Walters, MD

Dr. Walters was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from Dartmouth College receiving a B.A. in Economics. He received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha society. During Medical School, he and his wife Liz traveled to various rural areas in Central America (Ahuas, Honduras and San Felipe, Guatemala) and South America (Quito and Cuenca, Ecuador) working at small clinics for the under served. He completed his Pediatric Residency at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle.

Prior to founding Bainbridge Pediatrics with Dr. Warren in April 2007, Dr. Walters worked at the Virginia Mason Winslow Clinic for four years. He is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Walters’ medical interests encompass all aspects of pediatric medicine, including both preventive and acute care. In addition, he has a special interest in utilizing electronic technology and the internet to improve pediatric care and communication with both parents and their children.

Dr. Walters lives on Bainbridge Island with his wife Liz, a nonprofit foundation manager, and their three children, Claire, Elise and Margo. He enjoys gardening and spending time with his family outdoors.

Warren

Linda S. Warren, MD

Dr. Warren was born and raised in York, Pennsylvania. She received an A.B. degree in Human Biology from Stanford University and an M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed both a Pediatric Residency and an Adolescent Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Warren has a strong interest in international health that began early during her education at Stanford when she spent six months as a volunteer English Teacher at a Department of Health in Palembang, Indonesia. During Medical School she was designated an “Albert Schweitzer Fellow” and worked for three months at the Lambarene Hospital in Gabon, Africa. Most recently, Dr. Warren has served as a volunteer physician with Northwest Medical Teams at a number of sites including: Honduran Villages (2004); Ukraine (2005); Banda Ache, Indonesia (2005, after the tsunami); and Baton Rouge, Louisiana (2005, after Hurricane Katrina).

Prior to founding Bainbridge Pediatrics with Dr. Walters in April 2007, Dr. Warren worked for Virginia Mason for over ten years. She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Warren enjoys the diversity of Pediatrics and has a special interest in adolescent medicine and special needs children.

Dr. Warren lives on Bainbridge Island with her husband, Hootie Warren, an oncologist and scientist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and their three children, Katherine, Sylvia and Houston. She enjoys hiking, swimming, gardening and reading.

Ballou

Shari Ballou


Shari is one of our Pediatric Medical Assistants. She received her training from Eaton Technical Institute in Port Orchard and worked as a Pediatric Medical Assistant at Virginia Mason Winslow Clinic with Drs. Walters and Warren for seven years prior to joining Bainbridge Pediatrics. Before going to school to become a Medical Assistant she worked as a First Responder with Bainbridge Island Ambulance Association for four years.

Shari was born in Seattle and raised on Bainbridge Island. This is where she met her high school sweetheart Jeremiah, and where she is now raising her own two young sons, Isaiah and Tyler. Jeremiah works on the Island as a Paramedic for the Bainbridge Fire Department.

Shari enjoys spending time with family & friends and traveling. They enjoy going to Oregon a couple times a year with their camper, riding ATV's and camping in the sand.

Beres

Susan Beres

Susan is our receptionist who always has a smile on her face as she multi-tasks to answer phones and check-in our patients as they arrive!

Susan was born in California and raised in the Seattle where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Chris. She and her husband of over 30 years now reside in the small town of Indianola. They have three grown children - Michael, Leanne, and Joey. She enjoys going to concerts and being with her family and close friends.

While trying to be a stay-at-home mom, Susan found she could put her "Early Childhood Education" to good use volunteering at her children's elementary school. Later, she was hired by Suquamish Elementary to work in the ASSIST program for the 2nd graders and was also a teacher's aide for the 5th and 6th graders. Over the years, Susan has had various jobs but has found that working at Bainbridge Pediatrics feels like home.

Kristin Braun



Kristin is one of our Pediatric Medical Assistants. She received her training at Everest College in Bremerton. As a Bainbridge Island resident since 1989, she graduated from Bainbridge High School and attended Seattle Central Community College. Kristin has also been a volunteer firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for almost five years.

Kristin loves keeping busy and active. She is a proud member of a year round indoor soccer team as well as a co-ed softball team in the summer. She also works part time at Bainbridge Athletic Club.

In Kristin's spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cheering on the Seahawks from her season ticket seats, traveling, snowboarding and being on the water.

Bugas

Jennifer Ottmer


Jennifer is the Office Manager for Bainbridge Pediatrics. Jennifer was born in Oregon and her family shortly thereafter moved to Lynden, Washington, where she later met her husband, Trevor.

After graduation Jennifer moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. While living in Seattle, Jennifer worked at Overlake Hospital, at Children’s Hospital and at the PolyClinic. Jennifer also traveled to Bolivia, where she cared for children at an orphanage.

Led by the confidence and enthusiasm expressed by Drs. Walters and Warren, Jennifer moved to Bainbridge Island to become the Office Manger for Bainbridge Pediatrics. The welcoming and gracious community has made Bainbridge Island feel instantly like home and Bainbridge Pediatrics feel less like work and more like play.

Jennifer enjoys being with family and friends, playing with her puppy, traveling, scrapbooking, and singing at the top of her lungs in the privacy of her car.

Melissa Compton

Melissa is one of our Pediatric Medical Assistants. She received her training at Eaton Technical Institute in Port Orchard. She worked for four years in pediatrics at The Children's Clinic in Edmonds and for three years at Edmonds Family Medicine. She joined our team here at Bainbridge Pediatrics because of her love for kids.

Melissa lived in Edmonds since 1989 until moving over to Poulsbo a few years ago. She lives with her husband Jeff and their three kids - Hayden, Skyler and Matix.

In her free time Melissa enjoys spending time with her friends and family as well as continuing her education to pursue her goal as a Registered Nurse.

Sarah Raymundo

Sarah is one of our Pediatric Medical Assistance. Sarah was trained in San Diego at Maric College of Medical Careers as a Medical Assistant and Certified Phlebotomist. Sarah brings over twelve years of experience to Bainbridge Pediatrics.

Sarah lives on Bainbridge Island and has two children of her own, Ben and Ruby.

When Sarah is not enjoying her work at the clinic, her family is at batting cages, hiking trails, baking cookies or bundled up watching a good movie.

Christine Richmond

Christine is one of our Pediatric Medical Assistants. She received her training at Eaton Technical Institute in Port Orchard. She worked at Central Kitsap Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine for four years before joining the Bainbridge Pediatrics team.

Christine moved to Washington from Hawaii in 1991. She has been married for over five years to her husband Chris and they have been busy raising their three daughters: Cayla, Isabella and Julia.

Christine enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as camping, boating and snow boarding.
